The Stockings were hung…

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

We hung our stockings around our Christmas train and village.  No chimney in this house.  I’m not sure what Duffy will get in his stocking, but it had better taste good.  Of course, MY stocking is hand knit.  Pat’s stocking is his newest cycling sock, but I think is he is sending a message to Santa.IMG_2724We have an N gauge model train (The Silver Streak) that circles a teeny tiny village.  Throughout the year I search antique shops for the Norman Rockwell village buildings to add to our village. IMG_2224The Yarn Babes celebrated the holiday with a day long knit and crochet retreat.  There was way too much food, lots of laughter and fun and okay, not so much knitting.  IMG_2704  Jo,(middle front row) our social secretary, historian and now web administrator, presented us with our own website, Sierra Vista Yarn Babes.  It is a WIP, so check in and see what we are doing.  Thanks, Jo!

Pat received an early gift.  I made an inkle loom band for his guitar strap.IMG_2705Duffy just loves his new ball from Bisbee, Yarn Babe Linda’s lab.  Bisbee felt Duffy needed a “Manly” ball.IMG_2228

So, to all my fiber loving friends and family…….IMG_2717See ya,

Thank you for taking time to read about the fun stuff going on at My Yellow Swing. Pat, Duffy and I wish the best for you all in 2016. My gosh, I can’t believe the year is almost gone.

lol That looks like a sock my hubby would have too!…the “epic” one. You have a big stitch group. I’ll check out the new site. I was back in Tucson a couple weeks ago and visited Tombstone and Bisbee. I even ran across a fiber/weaving group event when we were in Bisbee. What a cool little town! It even snowed the day we were there. It was magical! Can’t wait to go explore there some more in the future. I now know where Sierra Vista is. We didn’t go there that day but I noticed there’s a yarn/quilt shop there that might be fun to check out sometime. 🙂

    Best wishes for a wonderful 2016! 🙂

Bisbee is a very, very different place. If you get a chance to wander around the back streets, go for it. You will see some amazing houses and gardens. There are some very, very different people there also. If you like pizza and beer (and I know you do), try the Screaming Banshee, near the Courthouse. Happy 2016!
