Monsoon Season

The monsoon rains have started in Southern Arizona.  The normal (but really, what is normal any more?) would be hot and sticky in the early morning, then the clouds start to pile up and around middle afternoon, the sky would dump buckets of rain.  An hour later, the sun is back with slightly cooler temperatures.  However, we are getting thunderstorms during the night, hail sometimes and it is hot and sticky all the time.  This is what I saw yesterday around seven in the morning .IMG_2534It started raining around noon and didn’t stop until early evening.  The water is badly needed and I am not really complaining ( well, yeah, I am).

Since I have time to spend inside, I am spinning alpaca fleece.  I am slowly working my way through three fleeces from the alpaca shearing.

IMG_2538The white baby alpaca is from Black Watch Alpaca Farm and  it is the softest I’ve ever handled.  I will probably knit a shawl or cowl with it.

See ya,

Nice to have a catch up! The alpaca looks so soft-are you participating in the Tour de Fleece or just enjoying a good spin? The water bottle sweater is so cute!
We are in our summer rainy season-much needed rainfall here, too; it’s good i love thunder/lightening storms!
