Happy Day Gifts

I like to give “Happy Day” presents.     I will just pop up with something I’ve made with yarn or fabric given to me by the gift recipient and make it a Happy Day for me and my friend.  One particular friend has given me a tapestry loom and bags of roving and yarn.  I found two balls of yarn that I think was hand spun which I thought would make a lovely shawl.  Thank you, Nina.IMG_2499 IMG_2500The next Happy Day gift is going to a Yarn Babe, Kathy.  She gave me 10 skeins of bulky yarn that I’ve had a ton of fun weaving.  Here’s a table runner for Kathy.IMG_2507 IMG_2511The last Happy Day gift is for the head Yarn Babe, Nancy.  She gave me the Rug Weave-it loom and I made some T-shirt yarn coasters for her.  IMG_2512The “Sheep in the Field” tapestry is progressing.  I had to dye more green yarn for the background.  I also need to spin more fleece samples for the next row of sheep.IMG_2502 IMG_2501Next week, I’m showing the Yarn Babes how to make felted soap.  This is some of the dyed wool we will be using.  The red is cherry Kool-Aid, the light teal is the Blue Raspberry Lemonade Kool-Aid, the the purple is Royal Blue Whilton cake coloring.  I’ve gotten a different color everytime I’ve used the Royal Blue color.  No mordants were used in dying this batch.IMG_2506That’s it at My Yellow Swing.

See ya,
