Fashion Show!

I finally finished my first knitted garment using all of my hand spun yarn!  It’s the pattern from Creative Knitting, Cia’s Striped Vest.Image

The different browns are alpaca yarn, the varied color yarn is a blend of the three different fleeces.  The black stripes between the brown sections is black Shetland, Nerd, that I bought from Basically Benita’s booth this past May at the KY Sheep and Fiber Festival.Image

I altered the pattern a bit, I didn’t want a thin black stripe down the center back. (Who IS that grey haired woman?  And why is she wearing my vest!)

I am VERY pleased with the final result.  I learned many new things in this knitting project.  How to pick up stitches, putting different yarns together, making sure I had enough yarn, but most important lesson–don’t be afraid to make changes!

See ya,
