Ssssssssssssssss

Our Alphabet Photo Challenge this week is the letter “S”.  It is also a Special week for me!  More on that at the end.

So, here’s to the letter “S”.

I will start with Sunrise at  Catalina State Park , Tucson, AZ.  I love to watch the sun creep down the mountainside with my first cup of camp coffee.

During the monsoon season, we have “Stormy Skies”.Image

Occasionally, we encounter a snake on our rides.  This is a rattle snake that Pat ran over with his mountain bike.  Pat started yelling “Snake!  Snake! *#$@&* Snake!”  So, I was able to avoid it.  We parked our bikes farther down the trail and walked back to check on the unfortunate creature.  Needless to say, he was coiled, ready to strike, and wanted no more dealings with us.  One picture and we were gone!   Actually, we don’t see many snakes on our rides, and I didn’t need to see this one.Image

We have abundant Sunshine in Arizona which makes for wonderful shadows.  Pat and I on our morning walk with Duffy.Image

A very special “S” is for “Sisters”.  My sisters, Terry and Kay with me at our traditional Cracker Barrel Breakfast.  We have never been kicked out of one…. yet.  We started doing the “Three Wise Monkeys” pose many, many years ago.  Our mom hates it.  We even did it for my parents at their 60th Wedding anniversary!Image

Here is our “not so normal pose”.  Sisters are the best! ( By the way, I am the oldest.)

And now a “Special Message” from our sponsor…. Wednesday (tomorrow), I will celebrate my 60th birthday!  I have been rather anxious about it.   I am not sure why, birthdays have never bothered me before.  Earlier in my life, sixty seemed so far away.  Now, it is here.  If I can be like my mom, then 60 is just another adventure to enjoy.   Earlier this year, I was offered a job during the shearing season handling alpacas.  Others do not see my age as a disadvantage, why should I!  So my birthday wish to myself is to “Live, Love, Laugh!” I have a good life.   I am loved by my husband, mother, father, sisters and their families.  And laughter comes easy with the many, many friends with whom I share my good times and bad.  Thank you, everyone!

See ya!  Sandy
